State of the Art 01

Wed 30 Sep 2009

Welcome to State of the Art 01! This series of posts will explore and discuss the hottest and freshest trends in the world of tech.

Chrome Dev Channel Updates - More extensions and Mac and Linux releases. - I could have sworn this was old news but anything that brings the adblock and Chrome for Mac closer to reality deserves repeating in my book.

TBXML, A fast an efficient XML library for iPhone - Do you write iPhone apps? Do you use XML? Do you want a kickass xml parser that can reduce your space and CPU footprint by an order of magnitude? Well then, here you go. :)

BMW + Thermaltake = Level 10 - I love this new case from Thermaltake with help from BMW. Form, meet function.

Use API, Make Money - BandsInTown's new API not only allows you to easily find event information for over 200,000 events in the BIT database. It also allows developers to directly make revenue through ticket sales via the API. Pretty nifty if you ask me. I might develop an app for it to supplement the 59c I made today through AdWords. ;) - via ProgrammableWeb

Android 1.6 NDK - Here's one for all the fanboys (myself included of course). The Android 1.6 NDK has been released with some noticeable improvements. These include the ability to use OpenGL ES 1.1 from your native apps and the new ability to put your native source in the same source tree as the Java files. Good stuff all round. Now all we need is the ability to sell apps from Australia. (argh)

That's it for State of the Art 01. Watch this space for more updates from around the web.
